An immersive seminar of art, music, and poetry June 22nd
John Singer Sargent was a preeminent portrait painter of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. But along with his mesmeric portraits, Sargent used his heightened perception of individuals to create characters of passionate intensity inhabiting dream-worlds. In honor of the blockbuster exhibition at the Met, and my upcoming tours of the exhibition, join me for this in-depth seminar. We will immerse ourselves in a few of his most powerful works and integrate contemporaneous music, poetry, and drama to help us see the richness of his art.
